How Preinfuse intends to make money, what is active today, and what it does and does not affect.

Current status
No affiliate programme is active. At the time of writing, Preinfuse is not enrolled in Amazon Associates or any other affiliate programme, and no link on this site carries a tracking parameter. Retailer links go to ordinary search or product pages and earn nothing.
This page exists now because the architecture is already in place, and because telling you before it matters is better than telling you afterwards.
What is planned
Preinfuse intends to join the Amazon Associates programme, and possibly other authorised retailer programmes. If a purchase is made through one of our links we would receive a commission from the retailer. The price you pay is unaffected.
When that becomes active, the required disclosure will appear on every page carrying commercial links:

It will sit with the links themselves rather than buried in the footer.
What commercial links do not affect
Which products appear. The catalogue is chosen to cover the market usefully across budgets and architectures, not by commission rate.
How products are rated. Every fit rating on this site is produced by published rules from recorded specifications. There is no input for commercial value, and none can be added without changing rules that are printed on the methodology page.
What the setup engine recommends. The engine scores on specifications and budget. It has no access to commercial data of any kind.
What we say about a product. Limitations are stated on the same page as the buy link. Several products in our catalogue carry recommendations against buying them for common use cases, and one is included mainly to show what the bottom of the market looks like.
What we will not do
- Display Amazon customer reviews, star ratings or review counts
- Display live prices sourced outside an authorised API
- Cache or re-host retailer product imagery
- Make availability claims we cannot support
- Let a commission rate change a rating, a ranking or a recommendation
Price bands
Because we cannot show live prices, every price on this site is a Preinfuse estimate of the typical US street range, shown as a range and dated. These are editorial estimates used for budget arithmetic. They will drift. Check the retailer for the real number.
